AI News You Should Know

NotebookLM now turns your documents into 60-second vertical videos. On June 30, Google announced Short Video Overviews in NotebookLM, letting users upload documents, PDFs, or notes and automatically generate a 60-second vertical video that walks through the key ideas with narration and animations. It joins NotebookLM's existing output formats as a fourth option built specifically for mobile. Rolling out now to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, with free access coming soon. For real estate agents who use NotebookLM as a research hub, upload your listing notes, a market report, or a seller prep guide and instantly generate a shareable short you can post to Instagram or send to a client. Google's tagline for the feature: "doom scrolling but make it educational."

ChatGPT's personal finance tools just expanded to Plus subscribers, giving agents a new client conversation tool. Originally launched for Pro users in May, OpenAI expanded its personal finance experience to ChatGPT Plus subscribers on June 25, making it available to the $20/month plan. Users can connect bank accounts, credit cards, and investment accounts from over 12,000 financial institutions through Plaid and ask ChatGPT questions grounded in their actual financial data. One of the built-in sample prompts: "Help me build a plan to be ready to buy a house in my area in the next 5 years." For real estate agents, this is a value-add conversation to walk buyer clients through. When someone tells you they want to purchase in 18 months, ChatGPT can now look at their actual finances and help map the path alongside you.

New data shows 93% of AI-driven Google searches end without a click, and your Google Business Profile is now your most important AI visibility asset. Published July 1 in HousingWire, this analysis draws on SparkToro and Google data to make a direct case: when an AI Overview is present, 83% of searches produce no click, rising to 93% in Google's AI Mode. For real estate agents who depend on website traffic, rankings alone no longer protect you. ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity all pull from your Google Business Profile when answering local real estate questions. If it's incomplete, outdated, or missing reviews, you're invisible in AI answers even if you rank on page one. The new game isn't ranking in search. It's being cited by AI.

Get AI Smart

Each week, I will include a video on how AI is evolving and impacting agents or brokerages. This is worth your 11 minutes this week over a cup of coffee to elevate your use of NotebookLM’s new feature of Vertical videos.
