AI News You Should Know

Google released several AI features and the highlights were the launch of deep research for google advanced users. It promises to be profound for research and I will do a demo video soon once I have had a chance to play with it. The second highlight from Google was their release of Veo 2 that can create two-minute-plus clips in resolutions up to 4k (4096 x 2160 pixels). Notably, that’s 4x the resolution — and over 6x the duration — OpenAI’s Sora can achieve. The text to video generation will become mainstream in 2025!

12 Days of OpenAI released several features for free and plus subscribers as outlined below. At the time of sending the newsletter, we still have 4 more days to go.

Day 1: Released the full version of the O1 reasoning model to plus and Pro subscribers.

Day 2: Introduced ChatGPT Pro, a $200 monthly subscription offering unlimited access to all OpenAI models.

Day 3: Launched Sora, the highly anticipated text-to-video AI generator, available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users.

Day 4: Expanded Canvas, a collaboration-focused interface for writing and code projects, to all users.

Day 5: Demonstrated ChatGPT's integration with Apple Intelligence across iOS and macOS.

Day 6: Unveiled Advanced Voice Mode with Vision, introducing real-time video and screen-sharing capabilities, along with a festive Santa Mode.

Day 7: Debut of Projects, a feature designed to streamline long-term task management with AI assistance coming to free users soon.

Day 8: Made ChatGPT search free for all users, including voice search functionality and improved search speed and accuracy.
